Does it still count as a compliment when someone tells you: "You're pretty lah.......(a short silence)....... I mean, ... I can see what you'll look like once you slim down."
Sometimes I wonder how a girl is supposed to take such a thing.
Hehehe... Sigh... It really show how expensive a compliment can be. It looks like someone tried to take it back. Maybe you can answer back by saying: "I take it as a compliment. Yes?"
Yeah... Backhanded compliment. Interesting....Did you come up with that, dimcorner?
Anyway, I think I kinda decided then and there to take it just as a neutral comment, bluecactus. I didn't even bother asking and I just pretended I didn't hear anything. I mean, what if the person says "No" after you ask the question. So I think in the future, if it happens again, I think I will still do the same thing.
